The Different Kinds Of Exotic Hats Today

By Charles Murray

Fashion industry has been booming over the past years. There are countless of brands that are popping out in stores, malls and even on the streets. One example of a famous brand is Prada. They even had a movie called the Devil Wears Prada. However, it does not just revolve in the clothes that we wear but also our accessories and shoes. It also revolves on the different kinds of exotic hats that we wear today.

Even though we have advanced, the purpose of a head piece is still to protect our heads from rays of the sun and prevent it from getting wet by sudden rain showers. But not all the time we wear these because of that purpose. Sometimes we wear them just because we feel like wearing them and that it matches with our clothes and shoes.

Exotic means that it is originated from a foreign country. This is usually described on the different kinds of food we eat that are not common or even the kinds of plants we grow having trouble adapting to its environment. This word literally means that it is unusual and can spark an interest to a certain individual.

We all know Frank Sinatra and that he is a legend in the music industry. Michael Buble is even a certain musician who is following his footsteps like a younger version of him. Sinatra has this gentleman look usually. That look is wearing a blazer and the famous fedora, one example of that head piece. Most gentlemen are wearing this but it also evolved to be used in informal occasions.

If you have seen the movie Anastasia and heard the song entitled Paris holds the key to your heart, one would immediately think of how a French would look like. They would usually envision them to have striped shirts whether it be long sleeves or short, a handkerchief placed around the neck and a beret, those round hats. Even Jazz people wear those along with their circular shades.

Let us jump to Asia and know of its type. They have the conical shaped head gear. The material is different from the fedora and beret. A traditional material like straw is what makes this piece unique other than its shape. Most of the users are farmers and those living in the rural areas.

Religion might be a reason to why one is wearing a certain top piece instead of fashion. These are the turbans for Muslim men and the Hijab for Muslim women. They are sacred practices in generations in their country. They are used to cover, protect what they think should not be exposed.

There are a lot more hats out there. The fez from the Middle East, war bonnets by the Native Americans, the bowler that Charlie Chaplin wore, a tam used by some Dreadlocked hair people, the kufi from Africa, the Ushanka in Russia, sombreros by Mexicans and hundreds more. Each country and continent has their own style of head piece.

So when you start travelling, you might want to get yourself those as a souvenir. And when you do finally own one, you can show it off to people as proof you actually did go to their place. A head piece of yours can tell a long story and a good conversation starter.
