Fine Art Purchase Thru E-Commerce

I recently came across a very cool article that discussed the direction of purchasing in the fine art industry. It touched on some major changes that were occurring and hinted at what the future of art would look like. It was a very eye-opening read from the NY Times about the direction of e-commerce in relation to fine art. It touches on the hesitations associated with the online purchase of fine, expensive artwork and predicts a shift in this mentality.

It is not a huge shock that many consumers are reluctant to purchase fine art online. Unlike books and music, this purchase dips deeper into your pocket and proves more of an investment than simple purchase. This is perhaps the leading reason for art's inability to really take off through Internet purchasing.

However, the upcoming generation has shed their parent's ideals on what it means to make this investment. They no longer require an in person observation before they are willing to go through with the purchase.

A new generation is now presenting new opportunities by way of purchasing art online. It is no longer a necessity to witness the artwork in person before the decision can be made! This upcoming wave of wealth is sure to change the game in which luxury goods are acquired. There is a comfort that is felt among them that allows for more flexibility and less hesitation related to the business of online purchasing. They are faithful and trustworthy of the online purchase business and appear to appreciate the simplicity that comes along with just a few clicks of a mouse.

Though it may not be tomorrow, it would appear that the fine art industry is now bridging the gap to modern day purchase with young, wealthy investors leading the way!
