The Process Of CPR New Jersey

By Scott Cole

A person may require a cardiopulmonary resuscitation process in case they drown or get a heart attack. This first aid process is offered to them when the breathing is not taking place or the heart beat has stopped. The process is important to help maintain a constant flow of blood into the important parts of the body. The article that follows illustrates the steps that can be taken to offer a CPR New Jersey.

Checking the scene and the person. Some situations are not certain and you may never know what led to that condition which that person is in. Therefore, before you become comfortable with the situation, ensure you search the area well and look carefully to ensure it is secure. After that, pat the patient on their shoulder and ask them if they need help and if they are okay. This way, you can confirm the kind of attention required.

Call the emergency. Since the condition of the patient might be in the worst, you should contact the emergency services to get you to the right and best medical attention as fast as possible. Call the number 911 or ask a nearby party to call it for you. After making the call, ensure you are aware of the steps for giving the necessary first aid needed or you can easily access the service from another person.

The process of opening the airway. Make sure the airway is open to avoid chocking the patient in the process of giving the first aid. Lay the person on the back and slightly lift their chin. This also eases the process of attending to them.

Know the breathing condition of the victim. You should have knowledge on what normal breathing is and the signs that confirm it. Bouts of breathing that comes and goes with moments are not signs of good breathing. For not more than 10 seconds, ensure you have the information about this condition to avoid a longer period which might lead to further complications. This ensures that first aid is given as fast as possible.

Push hard and fast. With the person in need of the help laid on the back, slightly tilt their head and raise their chin. Place one hand over the other on the middle of their chest. At least two inches deep compressions are to be given by the use of your full body weight. Ensure the rate of at least one hundred compressions is given per minute.

Give rescue breath. Raise the head of that person slightly back and lift the chin. Pinch the nose so as to shut it. Make a complete seal between your mouth and the mouth of the person in need of the help. Make their chest rise by blowing into their mouth. Ensure you deliver rescue breaths 2 times and continue with compressions.

Continue the process. You need to continue administering sequential rescue breaths and chest compressions with no break. This should be continued until the victim in question shows signs of being alive such as breathing or when a medical doctor responds.
