If you want to leave this world for a short time then sci fi books are the best way to do it. The people that enjoy these books range from children all the way to senior citizens. The only way to enjoy sci fi novels is to have a fantastic imagination and a completely open mind. You can't enjoy one of these books if you are reading about zombies and witches and thinking to yourself this could never happen then you will never fully enjoy the book, you have to let yourself become part of the book to enjoy it.

This is your chance to have a conversation with an alien. Some people may think that reading these books is ridiculous but those people have never read one of these books and spent a day being a star trooper protecting the galaxy from killer aliens.
Anther misconception about sci fi is that only guys and nerds read these books. First I would like to point out that it doesn't make you uncool or a "nerd" to read. Just as many girls ready sci fi as guys do. In fact if a girl is into these types of books and meets a guy that is into the same thing they are probably going to hit it off better than a guy that doesn't read because he thinks it's uncool.
Girls like smart guys, they also like guys with imagination. So all of the jock guys out there that made fun of the kids in middle school and high school because they read books all the time, they probably have great girlfriends or wives that enjoy the same time of reading material.
You might be surprised to learn how many of your classmates are reading sci fi books but are too embarrassed to admit it. The do not want to seem uncool by their peers. Reading is not something to be ashamed of, in fact reading makes you smarter.
